Lesson from Elementary Math – Equivalent Fraction

Teaching my daughter, we learned “equivalent fraction”, even though two (and more) fractions have different numerators and denominators, those fractions can be mathematically the same! I never bothered about this concept but my daughter was really interested in this concept; how can be the same?? Through this, I found a life lesson.

In life, we often measure the accomplishment by the result (numerator) alone, overlooking the denominators (potential, talent, ability, and capability …). Consider two persons: one achieves 3 out of 5 capability and the other 3 out of 10 capability. Solely focusing on numerators implies equal effort. However, the first person tried to do his/her best to achieve 3 out of 5.

I hope everybody will consider not only the result (numerator) but also their hidden effort. Please see the denominator, too!!
